Anne-Marie Hamilton MSc., BA., Dip.PT.

Anne-Marie graduated from the Physiotherapy program at the University of Toronto and received her Master of Science degree from the University of Greenwich.  She has worked extensively in paediatrics in many settings. While her work experience is varied, her expertise has focused on neurodevelopmental disabilities in young children.  Anne-Marie has her Paediatric NDT certification and CME/MEDEK levels I and II. She has taken many additional courses over her paediatric career  including  kinesiotaping,  hydrotherapy and core restoration.  She has a teaching status appointment with the Division of Rehabilitation Sciences, at the University of Toronto.  She previously worked in an advanced practice role in the Neonatal Developmental Follow-up Program at Sick Kids Hospital. She is a member in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.

 


 


Catherine Patterson BSc. PT.

Catherine graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Toronto.  She has worked at Sick Kids Hospital for almost 20 years.  Her areas of practice include cardiorespiratory with critical care experience, neurodevelopment and orthopaedics.  She currently works part-time at the hospital in the organ transplant program.  Catherine has affiliations with the University of Toronto and holds a teaching status appointment with the Division of Rehabilitation Sciences.  She has taken many post graduate courses including Treatment of the Baby,  Treatment of the Child with Hypotonia, Intermediate NDT and CME/MEDEK levels I and II.  She also has Advanced Paediatric Kinesiotaping certification. Catherine is a member in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.


 


Stephanie So BSc. PT.

Stephanie graduated in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Toronto.  Since that time she has worked at Sick Kids Hospital in a wide variety of program areas.  She has experience in general paediatrics, neurology, neurosurgery, respiratory medicine, oncology, and general orthopaedics.  She continues to work part-time at the hospital in the  transplant progam.  She has taken many post graduate courses in the areas of cardiorespiratory, orthopaedics and neurodevelopment.  She has her Intermediate NDT certification and CME levels I and II.  She also has Advanced Paediatric Kinesiotaping certification. She has a teaching status appointment with the Division of Rehabilitation Sciences, at the University of Toronto.  Stephanie is a member in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.


OUR ASSOCIATES

Susan Hardy, MSc., PT

Susan obtained her diploma in Physiotherapy in England and went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Montreal. She received a Master of Science degree in Rehabilitation Science from McGill University. She has worked for many years treating children with cerebral palsy and related conditions of motor dysfunction. She specializes in Paediatric NDT treatment, qualified as an NDT instructor with Berta Bobath (the founder of NDT) and was the first Canadian instructor to teach courses in Ontario and Quebec. Susan also has Medek Level II certification. Susan worked for over twenty years at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital and also spent several years working on paediatric clinical research. She is a member in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.


Sejal Patel-Modi MSc.PT, BSc (Hon)

Sejal received both her Bachelor of Science in Allied Health Sciences and her Masters in Physical Therapy at Wayne State University and is qualified to practice physiotherapy in Michigan, USA and in Canada. She has experience in spinal cord rehabilitation and in adult out-patient orthopaedic settings. She currently works part time at Sick Kids Hospital in General Paediatrics and has experience in the areas of cardiorespiratory, neurological and orthopaedic physiotherapy. She has her Intermediate NDT Certification and her CME Level I and recently completed a Treatment of the Baby Course. Sejal has a teaching status appointment with the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, University of Toronto and is a member in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists in Ontario.


Adrienne Walker BSc.PT, BAH, BPHE

Adrienne received her Bachelor of Physical and Health Education at Queen’s University and went on to obtain her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto. Since that time she has worked in a wide variety of acute and rehabilitation settings in both Canada and the USA. She worked for many years in early intervention, preschool and school age programs and currently works part-time in the Peel-Halton School Board. Adrienne has her Intermediate NDT and CME Level I Certification and has taken a variety of other clinical courses including Paediatric Myofascial Release. She is also an ADP Authorizer for Assistive Devices and Orthotics. Adrienne is a member in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists in Ontario.

 

Shari Renaud BHSc. PT

Shari received a Bachelor of Health Science degree in physiotherapy from McMaster University in 2001.  Since she graduated she has worked at SickKids in a variety of programs.  Her experience includes the areas of paediatric medicine, oncology, the NICU, respirology, neurosurgery and neurology.  She has taken many post graduate courses including treatment of the child with hypotonia, intermediate NDT, CME level I and advanced airway clearance.  She is a member in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.


Rowena Maclure  BSc. OT Reg (Ont)

Rowena received her Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Toronto in 1984 and has been practicing in the field of paediatrics for over 20 years, primarily working in the school system with the Toronto District School Board(TDSB). She has experience with children who present with physical and developmental disabilities, as well as sensory processing difficulties.  Rowena has attended a wide variety of courses related to visual-perceptual-motor skills, handwriting and sensory assessments. She is an Ontario Assistive Devices Program (ADP) authorizer and able to prescribe mobility and positioning equipment. Rowena has a teaching status appointment with the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences Department, University of Toronto and is the on-site OT Fieldwork Placement co-ordinator at the TDSB. Rowena is a member in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists in Ontario.


Sandy Steinwender BSc. OT Reg (Ont)

Sandy graduated from McMaster University with her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy. She has 15 years of clinical experience including work experience in Vancouver, BC and Nunavut. She currently works as a Occupational Therapist at Sick Kids Hospital in the NICU and Neonatal Follow-Up Programs. Sandy’s areas of expertise include neurodevelopmental assessment and treatment of infants and young children, oral feeding and videoflouroscopic feeding studies along with treatment of sensory motor and fine motor delays. Sandy has taken a variety of post graduate courses including NDT, General Movement Assessment for infants and Beckmann oral motor skills. Sandy holds a teaching status appointment with the Rehabilitation Department at the University of Toronto. She is a member in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.


Kala Subramaniam BSc.OT, MSc, OT Reg (Ont)

Kala graduated from the Occupational Therapy program at Queen’s University. She completed her Master of Science through the University of Toronto Rehabilitation Science program. She worked at the Hospital for Sick Children for over seven years as an Occupational Therapist in the Neurosciences program, as the Academic and Clinical Specialist and as the University Education Coordinator. For the past nine years, she has worked in the community providing services in-home and through the School Health Support Services Program. She previously worked as a Paediatric Clinical Lead at COTA Health. Kala’s areas of expertise include: acquired brain injuries, feeding, fine motor skills, handwriting and visual skills. She has her Intermediate NDT certification and CME Level I. She currently volunteers with the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists on the School Based Occupational Therapy task force. She is a member in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.


Samara Francia MSc.OT Reg (Ont), BEd, BPHE 

Samara received her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from McMaster University in 2005 and has been practicing in the field of paediatrics for over four years. She has worked in the community providing in-home and School Health Support Services to support the development of fine motor skills, gross motor skills, sensory processing and feeding skills.

Samara has also worked in the private sector providing Occupational Therapy treatment services. She has a keen interest in supporting children with sensory processing difficulties and has taken many courses in this area. She has recently trained in Therapeutic Listening. She is a member in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.
